Kingfisher 5/5

Best Glamping experience ever! We had the bedt time. The kids loved it can’t recommend this place enough. Will definitely be booking in the future.

Ruramai Tapera | 05 November 2024

A blissful weekend break 4.7/5

Arriving just before sunset on a Friday evening, we were struck by the pristine beauty of the surroundings. The site was thoughtfully laid out, with charming lodges nestled among paddocks dotted with occasional sheep and trees. Elegantly crafted wooden fencing added a graceful touch, blending seamlessly with the natural landscape. Our self-contained tent was warm and inviting, equipped with everything we could need. The kitchen area had all the essentials, and the TV was a nice touch, allowing us to unwind with a movie in the evening or catch up on Netflix. There was a lovely basket of goodies and a guided book of the area. The sleeping area was cosy, and the beds were wonderfully comfortable. A minor setback was a broken light in our section, which made it a bit dim, but we’re confident a quick request would have resolved it. Outside, we enjoyed a bench and a hot tub, which heated to a pleasant 36 degrees—just right for the chilly evening air. One suggestion would be to bring a few foldable chairs, as the fire pit is safely set away from the tents, making it perfect for gathering around. Torches are also a must-have for any midnight trips to the loo. The shower block, conveniently close to the tents, was basic but adequate. There are plenty of beautiful spots to explore nearby. Elan Valley is perfect for a day out, with bikes available for hire to explore the scenic surroundings. A real highlight was witnessing the Red Kites being fed—a breathtaking experience. These magnificent birds even graced the site, their calls echoing like a shepherd guiding his sheepdog, adding an unforgettable touch to our stay. A beautiful place to stay for a peaceful break and to unwind. There is also small play area for kids.

Two night stay in October 5/5

Just returned from two nights in one of the beautiful tents on site at Cae Llywn with my two young boys. The tent was lovely and cosy and warm when we arrived and with the heater in the bedroom and one in the kitchen area it stayed lovely and warm despite the temperature outside dropping near zero at night. The hot tub and fire were brilliant places to relax and take in the views, we even had Red Kites flying overhead. The kids enjoyed cycling up and down the lane which was in view of the tent and the playground was fun too. We all had a great weekend and would highly recommend it to anyone who needs a relaxing break away, regardless of the weather this place is perfect.

Would stay again and recommend 4.7/5

Our stay over the new year was jus what we needed after a busy Christmas time for me and my boyfriend to chill before a busy 2024, the tent itself was excellent very comfortable with everything you need. Although it rained the whole duration of our stay it didn’t ruin it but we were unable to use the hot tub and fire pit which was a shame but would love to go in summer and properly enjoy the facilities you pay for. The toilet and shower facilities were close by and clean enough for a camp site. Would definitely recommend staying here in the peaceful setting as a lovely couple of days away.

Fantastic getaway 5/5

I booked this as a surprise getaway for my partner. We were blown away by everything. The cleanliness and comfort of the tent was fantastic and the place was kitted out with everything you'd need. Our sons did not want to come home at all, we visited Elan Valley which by the way is breathtaking. We visited Rhayader and went for a delicious breakfast in the Lost Arc. Highly recommend these tents and the surrounding attractions. Thank you for having us. Core memories were made.

Magical! 5/5

A truely relaxing holiday. Three children had the best holiday. The hot tub is wonderful, you can star gaze like no where else. The beds were very comfortable, everything you needed is there, highly recommend.

Zoe Bennett | 25 August 2023

A holiday for reflection 4.8/5

We visited this site as a family of 5, we stayed in kingfisher and it was incredible. The only thing missing was the matches and things to start the fire meaning we had to go off site to buy them. The nearest town is about 10 minutes drive. There is a leisure centre in Rhyder and the children loved it. If you’re looking for somewhere to go that is tranquil, quiet and calm this is the place to go. There isn’t anything close buy so please ensure you take everything you need with you. The gift basket was lovely thank you.

Excellent stay despite the weather!! 5/5

We came to Kingfisher with 3 young kids. They absolutely loved the hot tub and even went in it in gale force wind and rain (the great British weather!) the little heaters kept us from freezing and we’re much appreciated. The little hamper was a lovely welcome. Facilities were great and clean and good quality. Will definitely be recommending to friends!

A 40th birthday to remember! 5/5

We couldn't have been happier spending my sisters 40th birthday here. Such a quiet and relaxing break. We had the best time!! The little hamper on arrival was a wonderful touch, we all enjoyed the hot chocolate. We had 6 people in this accommodation and it still felt like we had plenty of room. (Perhaps a pull out chair would be useful on these occasions howerver, as it was a bit of a squeeze on the sofa). If you're worried about the toilets our tent was right next door to them. Couldn't have been a better weekend loved the lambs around us. Thank you so much. We are all looking to come back very soon.

Natasha Blanchard | 04 April 2023

A lovely weekend away 5/5

Lovely quiet location. Beautiful site. Perfect for stargazing. The tents are next to the toilet/shower block so easy and quick to get to. The temperature was -6 on the Friday we arrived however there is some heating in the tent. The under counter heater in the kitchen gave off more heat than the tower heater that was provided and I also took my own portable heater with us and we were cosy and warm all weekend. I would recommend taking a portable heater with you if you have one and lots of blankets (if you are going in colder weather). Its a perfect place to spend time with family and friends. I can’t wait to return.
