The town of Rhayader is a real hidden gem, a bustling market town where you will find lovely local independent shops, cafes and pubs including a traditional hardware store, the perfect base for your weekend away in Wales and a true blast from the past.

You can visit the magnificent Victorian Dams of the Elan Valley, Caban Coch Dam, Red Kite Feeding Center or head off for a more strenuous mountainous walk, taking in the surroundings and spotting the tiny Welsh cottages tucked away amongst the hills.
