Excellent as always 5/5
This is our second visit to the hobbit houses and we absolutely loved it as much as the first time , we came back with friends this time and stayed in the bigger rabbits view which was stunning , it was so safe and clean for the kids ( 3,2,10 months ) they loved being able to see the animals from the window , we had some lovely little goats come and visit us each morning . Highly recommend holiday wales hobbit houses for a unique break away with friends or family , we will be making it a yearly tradition ??

Unique & peaceful holiday 5/5
We had great time here. Its difficult to capture all the beauty of this place. You have to be there & see it for yourself. So peaceful & lovely. My parents were so happy. I wish I had booked longer holiday there.

Review requires scores for multiple attributes, would answer 1 out of 5 overall. 2.3/5
We stayed in Rabbit View for 4 nights out of our purchased 5 night holiday.
The reason we came home early is the excessive, fast growing, white mold in the bedroom and black mold around the doors that was there when we arrived. After only the first day the bedroom began to smell of damp. By the end of our stay even our clothes stored in the bedroom smelt and felt damp. There was also surprisingly no wardrobe to hang clothes. The hot water supply to the bath is inadequate and unable to fill the bath with piping hot water, only luke warm. Exacerbating the damp issue, the extractor fan above the bath appears to be broken and inoperable.
The kitchen is marked with deep scratches and a fridge that leaks. The freezer is inadequate, we found it could not keep Ice Cream frozen, this is all we used it for. There were two mugs that were visibly dirty when we arrived, and utensils were in a state we didn't want to use them even after cleaning.
We ordered the Maid Service extra which never arrived, in complete honesty it sounds like a genuine mistake which we were refunded for after a genuinely kind visit by Gemma. We also felt the hot tubs could be arranged in a more private manner.
The location was relatively easy to find, and views were amazing.

Honest review of our stay at Rabbits View. 4.2/5
Booked Rabbits View for my partners 30th Birthday as its somewhere we always wanted to go!!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay however there were a few things I feel could be improved. There was various areas of the property damaged on our arrival which I took photos off and sent to management. I paid a £200 security deposit and it was made clear that you wouldnt get this back if there was any damage to the property however I wasnt aware if the current damage was logged or not therefore I recorded it and sent it over myself. It might be worth doing an inventory of the property after each guest leaves so you know what is new damage and old. The hot tub also has a big sign next to it saying if the lid isnt on properly and the straps arent attached you will be charged £55 but the lid was already broke so I think the lid either needs to be fixed or the sign needs to be removed.
The main bedroom smelt very very damp and you could feel almost the dampness/coldness on the bed sheets. No other room smelt like this and this particular room had a bath in so I feel there may be a damp issue somewhere caused by the bath. We had our 3 month old baby in this room and was very anxious to keep her in here cause of this reason.
Other than the above issues we had a lovely stay at Rabbits View and the views were amazing!!! We had about 20 goats outside our lodge one time and it was so lovely to see. If you stay here then make sure you order from Turkish Delight (Turkish takeaway) in the town. Best Turkish we have ever had we ordered from there both nights it was that good!!
Thank you for a lovely stay but feel it would be worth looking into my above points.

Perfect weekend away! 5/5
We stayed at Rabbits View for our mini moon and it couldnt have been better! The location was easy to find and only a short drive from Rhyader which has a selection of shops, pubs and restaurants.
The accommodation itself is nestled in the hillside and although other properties on the site surround it, it has such a private feel once inside. Its beautifully finished with a fully fitted kitchen and bathroom. The hot tub is and extra treat after a long day walking around the Elan Valley reservoirs which are a 5 mile drive away.
We had the best weekend- despite some wild weather and will definitely be returning!

Unique and beautiful place 4.7/5
We stayed here for a very small hen party celebration (4 ladies) and utterly loved it. The finish of the property was outstanding, everything was of incredibly high quality. The hot tub was brilliant - always super hot and a great size. Good amount of cooking utensils etc in the kitchen. Peaceful location and you don't really notice the other guests nearby that much. An absolutely genius idea for accommodation and such a creative and unique stay.
Only slight negatives:
The towels and bedding in a couple of the rooms smelt a little bit musty. You have to walk your own rubbish down to the bins at the end of the stay, which is fine if it's not pouring down with rain, but obviously not ideal if it is (which it was for us!) The hot water system doesn't allow enough hot water to actually fill the bathtub in the bedroom.

Lovely weekend away! 5/5
We went away as a group of Lord of The Rings fans and the accommodation was perfect! There was more than enough space for 6 adults and for all to be comfortable. The accommodation itself was in pristine condition, plenty of facilities to cook and good fridge/freezer space for a full house for two nights! The location was stunning! Very short drive or taxi ride into town where we had a lovely breakfast.
We will absolutely be returning. Glowing reviews from all who joined me!
Thank you so much 🙂

Loved our little house in the hillside ?? 4.7/5
We stayed 3 nights (Fri-Mon), family of 5, 2 adults & 3 children. All absolutely loved staying at Rabbits view. Its larger than I imagined it would be, the main double is a really good size and the stand alone bath really makes it. The other double is smaller but still a very good size, the bunk room is smaller again but great for little kids. The living area is lovely & comfortable and we liked all the modern decor. The kitchen did have some scratches on the paintwork & the fridge was small and not the best but apart from that we had no complaints. The star of the show was the hot tub for us. The views are beautiful and to sit whatever the weather and whatever time of day enjoying them is very special. The nearby town has a couple of nice pubs and shops. None of us wanted to leave our little hobbit house. Would definitely recommend a stay!

Beautiful accommodation 4.3/5
Absolutely amazing place !! The accommodation is brilliant, never stayed anywhere like it before. Also, having the highland cows in the field in front was a real bonus for my daughter, who loves them !! Would highly recommend it.
Only a small downside, only one bathroom and when there is 5 people staying need another toilet !!

Cosy and quirky Rabbits view is a definite must. 4.8/5
We arrived in the pitch black so couldnt see the views but did enjoy a starry night sky from the hot tub.
Looking out the following morning as the mist cleared to stunning views and red kites, several of them, swooping in the skies above. Amazing.
Went to Elan Valley just a few miles away the waterfalls were in full roaring force. Did a 12 mile walk that day and went back the following day for a 10 mile walk this time climbing the hills. Wonderful views definitely recommend.
The accommodation was compact but perfectly adequate for a short stay. We were a party of 4 adults so didnt use the bunk room but it was handy to store coats and spare clothes in.
We would definitely return for a long weekend again.

The perfect family getaway 4.8/5
I was looking to have a break from home and work life for a couple of nights and have some family time. It was very easy to book and communication with the staff was 5*
The hobbit house was perfect! It was big enough for the 5 of us, clean and tidy, the beds were really comfortable, all furnishings were really good quality, there were hand and bath towels for everyone and they even included coffee, tea, sugar, milk, washing up liquid and soap! Even though there are other hobbit houses, they are far enough apart so it feels like no one else is there. The hot tub was easy to use and felt very private with a lovely view! We also used the big fire pit and toasted marshmallows. Even though it rained the whole time, it was a perfect break away! We will definitely return!

Style over substance! 3.2/5
Rabbits View is a quirky little home in a beautiful setting. Whist initial impressions were good, we felt it was very poor value for money and would not return.
The house has been completed to a very high standard with beautiful oak doors & beds. However, there is not a single cupboard / wardrobe or hanger to unpack your stuff / hang your clothes! Fortunately there was only 2 of us (it sleeps 6) and so we used the bunk bed room to store stuff, but if there was 6 people then youd really struggle.
The fridge continuously poured water over the floor. I see someone else has mentioned this in a previous review but its clearly not been fixed.
The kitchen items/equipment is extremely basic. 6 plates, 6 knives/forks/spoons etc. Not so much of a problem for 2, but if theres 6 of you, youd run out of clean items very quickly!
The other annoyance was check out was 10am but they expect you to have stripped the beds and have the sheets ready for collection from 9am. Surely if you pay for the property until 10am, you have the right to stay there, undisturbed, until 10am?!
At £600 for 2 nights, it was very disappointing and there are much better places around to stay.

A few days of romance 4.3/5
We stayed here as a couple for our 6 year anniversary which was honestly lovely! My partner actually surprised me and proposed! So this will be a very special place to us forever!! Had a massage by Aggie which I highly recommend and also got some preordered food from farmgate2kitchengate (both contacts in your email from holidaywales). My only negative would be the insects and spiders!! I am not a creepy crawly kind of girl and if you dont like them bring some bug spray! The property do give you a fly trap but it wasnt enough. The flys, dragon flies, mosquitos, spiders and slugs were everywhere! Maybe the property can include some bug stuff for people to use - would change my review to 5 stars for sure!
Also the kitchen would be another negative as the cupboards smelt like vomit - could of just been a dirty cup or something but I have weak stomach so couldnt go in said cupboard! Also another feedback for the owners would be to supply some cleaning products for the kitchen as couldnt find anything to clean down the kitchen sides/table and hob.
Had such a lovely time even with the few bits of feedback to the owners!
Will definetly return 🙂

Hen do venue 4.8/5
Rabbits View is well placed and a lovely place to stay .
A draining rack would have been an asset and a larger fridge ! Perhaps another toilet would have been beneficial . I know the weather has been exceptional but due to lack of windows perhaps air conditioning should be considered for future builds and a parasol on patio area .
Highly recommend Aggi who came and gave us all massages .
Overall our stay was amazing and the accomodation was lovely . Thank you

Beautiful stay 5/5
We were delighted with our hobbit hut, really lovely and well arranged. The views are stunning, the bath in the bedroom a nice touch on a rainy day - we had a relaxing time enjoying the place and surroundings. Few pubs, restaurants in the local village which was perfect for our evenings. If you want a change a scenery, chill and recharge the batteries, this is the place to be.

Great stay with kids 5/5
We stayed a couple of nights with our 7 and 12 year olds. 2 days of rain didn't really matter as the kids had a great time. There's a good amount of space, great views, seems fairly new with everything you need, hot tub, fire pit, parking right outside cabin etc.... A good location, really quiet but just 5 minute drive from a small village which was handy for supplies and close to the Elan Valley.

We enjoyed our stay very much, however I was a little disappointed with the cleanliness of the kitch 4.2/5
Kitchen cupboards sticky/dirty upon arrival which was easily wipeable - a little disappointing to find.

Perfect little hideaway 5/5
Great find for a little getaway.
The views from the accommodation were spectacular and only around 15min drive to the Elan Valley Visitor Centre where we could enjoy a fantastic walk around the reservoir.
I would recommend this as a good place for a quiet getaway or as a relaxing place to come back to each night after long walks over the hills.

A fabulous family retreat! 4.8/5
We have just returned from the most fabulous long weekend at Rabbits View. We loved the location and the views were simply stunning! The accommodation was equipped to a very high standard, there was nothing that we needed that wasnt already thought of! The hot tub was a welcome treat after some long walks exploring the area. We have made some fantastic memories as a family and would love to return in the future.

Beautiful scenery but over-priced 4/5
If your preference is more for paying for a beautiful view rather than comfort, then rabbits view delivers on this. The views are spectacular, and morning coffee and the hot tub were our favourite things during our stay. However inside, for the price we paid, we expected a little more luxury. The bed in the main bedroom wasnt particularly comfy and we found it very hard, the extractor fan above the bath would sometimes drip water, and sadly the temperature of the bath was Luke warm. We did raise this as an issue, and this was dealt with promptly, having said that, the water only then became slightly warmer, and we werent able to control the temperature to suit our needs. Rabbits view has everything you need, cleanliness was spotless, they provided everything you would need for a few days away, however the sofa was not very comfortable, there was not much cushioning on the arm supports, so after a long day of walking, this isnt the sofa to comfortably lie on. The fridge leaked, despite us checking constantly that the door was closed securely. General wear & tear scuff marks were present throughout the property. The bathroom and the shower were perfect as described, but again the shower connection came off the first time we used the shower. Albeit these are slight niggles that either can be looked over, or easily dealt with by the owners, but for us, sadly due to the amount of money we paid for this stay we expected better. We personally would not recommend Rabbits View to others, unless of course you need a place for 6 people to cut down costs, however we recommend the holiday home itself as most looked like they had hot tubs, they also had the beautiful scenery, but just not as expensive.

Absolutely Stunning 4.7/5
The kids and us absolutely loved our stay at the Rabbit View. Everything about it was magical and wonderful. The scenery is just stunning and everything that we hoped it would be and more. We loved chilling by the fire eating s'mores and going to see the Dams at Elan Valley. The kids enjoyed the muddy hills and the cosiness of the hut. We will be back... 🙂
