3 nights in Wales 4.2/5

Firstly, the site is lovely, close to Elan Valley and the accommodation position of Foxes View was great as it’s at the end of the row of hobbit holes. We were without a fire pit when we arrived but owner very quickly put one out for us. The accommodation size is great. It does look run down in places though, flooring has some nicks in it etc. The kitchen was fine although the fridge wasn’t very cold. Hot water in sinks etc perfect but shower tepid. Hot tub was lovely and clean but only some jets worked and dials were not working properly. I’m really glad we experienced this site but for the price we wouldn’t return without the small niggles being rectified.

Fantastic location 4.3/5

Wonderful position , kids loved the goats and cows and al pacas near by , lovely idea of hobbit house , if I’m being nit picky Fridge could have been a bit bigger , and some pegs etc to put our clothes on as not much room for cases around side of bed but that’s just our opinion , wouldn’t put us off staying again , loved it

Jackie Llewellyn | 16 May 2026

Stunning location and quirky accommodation. 5/5

Beautiful accommodation in stunning surroundings. Very helpful hosts. Only one small criticism is the fridge is very small especially if more than two people staying for over 2days. Also the seating area indoors not cosy. However, the other facilities were excellent and the visiting goats were wonderful to see. An absolutely fantastic place to stay and relax. I would definitely stay again.

Claire Harries | 20 April 2026

A novel place to stay in beautiful mid Wales 4.7/5

We loved the hobbit hole style accommodation, with it’s hot tub and absolutely beautiful views. Great place for a few days away. Stayed in Foxes View, which was a fabulous spot being on the end, and my daughter was in fits of laughter when we had a goat ‘invasion’ outside one morning. Felt very private despite there being other ‘hobbit holes’ nearby. Inside is very novel, could do with some minor TLC but overall I would definitely recommend a short stay here.

Emma Holland | 14 March 2026

Perfect! 5/5

We went as a group to stay. The location is perfect, well equip with amenities and so reasonably priced.

Rachel King | 02 March 2026

Hobbit lodge 4.5/5

Great location Plenty of space inside and loads outside Fantastic views even from hot tub fun watching billy goats and baby goats outside and on rooftops Of hobbit house,

Carole Hogan | 24 February 2026

Novelty experience with incredible views 4.3/5

The experience of staying in a ‘den’ was 10/10, the kids thought it was fantastic and it was. The views were just incredible and you could sit and look at them for hours. As for sitting for hours that was difficult, the seating area isn’t comfortable, you can’t get cosy on the bench seating. In the end we went to bed as I couldn’t sit/ hover/ lean any longer. The cabin is looking worn in places but this is easily overlooked for a one night stay.

Rebecca Palmer | 19 February 2026

Hobbit weekend 5/5

Excellent location for a relaxing ‘time out’. Such admiration for the vision of those who created Gellila. The Hobbit huts are made to be very comfortable, which included all necessary equipment for cooking. The views are breathtaking and are even better when sat in the hot tub with a glass of prosecco.

Faith James Wathan | 16 February 2026

Gorgeous views 4.3/5

Lovely place would definitely go back. I didn’t find the seating area by the TV very comfortable but the rest was lovely

debbie morgan | 13 February 2026

Great place, great views, great stay. Again. 5/5

This is the second time we have stayed at foxes view and my 4th time staying on that site. The location, views and the place itself are amazing. The hobbit house is really quirky and provides all you need. If there are any issues, someone will come and sort them for you and nothing is too much trouble. Hoping to visit again and stay in the new one. See you soon.

Elizabeth Taylor | 10 February 2026

Great stay but could be a little more comfortable 4.3/5

We booked with a view to have a relaxing weekend for my partner’s birthday. We had no intention of leaving, just relaxing and enjoying the hot tub. Unfortunately the sofa/seating area was inbelievely uncomfortable. There was no chance of lounging around and relaxing, it was unbearable to sit on. The fridge also didn’t really get cold so had to keep things in the freezer to avoid them spoiling. I also received a small amount of damage on my car from the goats that were free roaming around the property. It’s just one of those things, we loved the goats, but make sure you’re aware that they will most likely congregate around your car. It was a beautiful location, really great sized property, amazing views and the customer service was quick, friendly and really good.

Rachael Rose | 27 January 2026

Wonderful 5/5

This was the third time I’d visited, each time staying in a different accommodation type. This time, as there were 5 of us and the dog, we chose Foxes View and wow, we weren’t disappointed. Fabulous views, immaculate accommodation and plenty of room for all of us. The location is out of the main town but only a short drive away. Perfect if you want to be out of the way but close enough to pop to the shops. We will definitely be visiting again because of how special this place is.

Nina Gunby | 25 November 2025

A lovely stay 4.3/5

We stayed in Foxes View and very much enjoyed our quirky, little home for three nights. We loved the stunning views and watching the farmer going about his day and the Highland cows. A couple of things that would have really improved our stay, firstly adequate mirrors for each room and a full length mirror. Why do holiday rentals fail to provide them? Why do the curtains in the main bedroom only cover half the window? Some decent fitted blinds would have been appreciated and finally, it would have been nice to have a relaxing seating area. I understand that the bunkette seating is practical but it’s also very uncomfortable. The accommodation could be elevated with these few changes, especially given the price.

Allyson Hunt | 25 September 2025

Unique, gorgeous place to stay. 5/5

After visiting this site twice, we decided to stay in one of the larger hobbit houses for this visit as my little boy who is 3 wanted to stay in a big ‘underground house’. The plot is private and a great space for parking, activities with the children, chilling with friends or enjoying a cosy firepit in the evening. The house itself is spotless with complimentary coffee, tea, and sugar provided and even some waffle biscuits. They also provide towels, washing up liquid and scourer so you just need food and you’re good to go. The bedrooms are really cosy with comfy beds and pillows and provide great views of the hills and Highland cows. And ro complete your stay, there’s a hot tub with lights and music but in for the ultimate relaxing experience. We enjoyed it so much we’re coming back for my fiends birthday in January.

Elizabeth Taylor | 15 September 2025

Beautiful 4.8/5

We stayed in Foxes view which was absolutely beautiful. They view was stunning especially seeing the highland cows and calf’s. Nothing was to much and anything we asked about or any issues were felt with straight away. My two little ones loved watching the cows, sheep and red kites every morning and every evening and loved the hot tub. Although you think your close to the other hobbit houses you not thanks to grass verges and bushes giving you a complete private feel. We will definitely be returning.

Lisa Marie Roberts | 05 August 2025

Fab family break 5/5

We’ve just got back from a fabulous family break in the foxes view underground house. We loved the house, especially the hot tub! Great location for going on some lovely walks, my 5 year old particularly loved the walk to the dam. Thank you for a fantastic experience, we’ll definitely be going back.

Ashley Holloway | 24 July 2025

A wonderful place to stay 5/5

This was the perfect place for the quiet getaway we were looking for. The view was amazing and the space felt very private. The accommodation was lovely and had all the amenities you would need. We will definitely come back

Ashleigh Tatton | 10 July 2025

Had a lovely time staying here 4.3/5

A lovely unique place to stay. We had such a nice time and took our bullmastiff with us. He loved it!! The only bits of feedback we had was the sofa was uncomfortable and hard to get cosy on (but we understand the design) and parts of the accommodation were looking abit tired and could do with a bit of tlc. We will be recommending you to friends and family and will try and come again on the future! Thank you!

Rachel Thomas | 25 May 2025

2-day break 4.7/5

Lovely stay, with amazing views! Foxes view had everything we need for our 2-day break. The only thing which was disappointing (nothing to do with the actual property) was that whilst walking around the site, there was a lot of rubbish waste like microwave/kettle boxes, recycling rubbish, old cabinets, fridge/freezers which some looked like they had been set fire too.

Guest | 24 May 2025

BBQ with visiting Goat family 4.7/5

Enjoyed out long awaited stay in a hobbit home, after staying twice before in two different Shepherds Huts (Shepherds View and Ivys Way). Views are heavenly and so peaceful, just what the doctor ordered. The neighbours were very friendly when they visited us twice and an added level of excitement for my other-in-law :). Accommodation is suitable for 4 adults and 2 children, but if full capacity, would be good to have an additional toilet/shower room. Kitchen was fully kitted out with everything we needed. Lounge was a good size, but location of tv limited use once once couple had gone to bed or had a lie-in. Bench Sofa’s were not overly comfortable but as we had gorgeous weather we were outside majority of the time. Two double bedrooms comfortable but would be good to have some clothing storage of some kind. As we didnt have any small people we used the bunk room for this.

Leanne Homewood | 13 May 2025

Spring Stay at Foxes View 4.5/5

We had a lovely 2 night stay in Foxes View with our dog and toddler. The hobbit house was immaculate, with stunning views, in a peaceful and serene location. Unfortunately there were some repairs being undertaken to the wall during our visit, with workmen and scaffolding in view which is reflected in the scores. Aside from that our only comment would be to add black out curtains, or at least privacy curtains in the double room, to the windows beside the patio doors. Overall though we loved our stay and would definitely recommend/like to return.

Rebecca Griffiths | 26 April 2025

An amazing stay!! 5/5

Wow! This place is outstanding. The views are incredible at all times of the day. Foxes view was comfortable, warm and very relaxing. The hot tub was an add bonus

Jade Board | 25 March 2025

Beautiful Location and a Unique Stay 4.8/5

We came to stay at Foxes View to celebrate my friend’s 40th Birthday. Safe to say we were blown away by the accommodation and the view! The perfect quirky place to stay with the added bonus of Highland Cows. We had a slight issue with the jacuzzi on the first night, but the owners were really helpful and quick to sort it out. Great location, very close to the beautiful Elan Valley. We’ll definitely be back!

Jessica Teague | 10 February 2025

Pre Christams break 4.3/5

Wonderful location and the accommodation is magical. Loved the special touch of the Christmas tree. The accommodation is warm and clean, but could do with a couple of minor maintenance jobs, sticking door, creaking floor, slow darning bathroom sink, and couple of faulty outside lights. There is a constant hum from what sounds like an extractor that is audible at night. Somewhere to be able to hang clothes or put away in a draw out of the case would be a big improvement. Bathroom warm and comfortable and spacious. Welcome pack of tea and coffee etc very useful. Loved seeing the red kites in the valley and the goats roaming the site were an unexpected surprise. Have already recommended a visit to friends and family and we will come back.

Paul Beaman | 23 December 2024

Didn’t disappoint 5/5

I have wanted to come and stay here since I started following Holiday Wales on Instagram during lock down. We stayed for the weekend and had a fabulous time. The property did not disappoint, it is very cute but functional and while there are other properties we were in an end one and it felt very private. it offered everything we needed for the weekend. The information provided before hand gave us ideas for walks and places to eat all of which were lovely. We had an amazing time and would love to come back.

Charlotte Veitch | 16 December 2024

Beautiful stay at Foxes View 4.7/5

We had a wonderful stay as a couple with a dog. The place is perfectly located and well equipped. So quirky and novel. The beds are comfy and shower is good. We enjoyed the hot tub, just wish we’d bought kindling for the fire pit! Word of wisdom- bring cash for takeaways! We thought we’d be able to order something via justeat – struggled with this and then the takeaways on the email seem to be cash on delivery only. We’d already had a drink by this point so missed out on dinner, our fault for not thinking of this but will know for next time. Only slight criticism, like others have mentioned, is the sofa is practical but not very comfy for evening chill. This won’t stop us returning though, and we’ve just booked again for February, to bring our son and mother along to see this gorgeous part of Wales

Jo Roberts | 03 November 2024

The views wow 4.2/5

Foxes view was clean and warm views were 10/10 wow But…Paid to check in early (2pm) and after arriving 1 hour early after travelling for a couple of hours with a disabled child received a phone call telling me to leave the property and return in a hour nothing was different when we returned so I didn’t see the problem in going in 1 hour early the seating area was so uncomfortable I’ve sat on comfier benches and the beds were about the same woke everyday with aches and pains.. also needs a little maintenance brick work etc Seating and beds can be changed so hopefully will make it a more relaxing experience

Lucy Wright | 26 October 2024

A stay at Foxes View 3.5/5

We looked forward to our stay at Foxes View. We arrived in stormy weather but the accommodation was warm and comfortable. The first night we used the hot tub and the lighting by the bedroom door and round the hot tub was not working. We advised the hosts, who said they would sort. On second night, still no lights working and there were so many chemicals in hot tub we could not use, our eyes were streaming and we were worried it was dangerous. On leaving mentioned the problems to hosts, who quite frankly did not seem too bothered that this had ruined our stay here! We picked the property as it had a hot tub. SO DISAPPOINTING

Angela Jones | 02 October 2024

Family Break 4.8/5

Perfect relaxing stay, amazing location away from it all Only slight negative was that the sofa could have been a bit more comfortable but didn’t distract from our stay. Already looking to come back.

Excellent thank you – kids and I had a wonderful time – hot tub was lovely, and the view was enlightening

Graham Bell | 29 October 2023

Stunning Views 4/5

Our three night stay here was just perfect! Cute accommodation with spectacular views – we stayed in Foxes View which was lovely and cosy. My only negative is the seating in the communal area – not relaxing at all due to them being benches with a plastic cushion – unable to get comfy on them! My daughter stayed in a newer one (Burrows View) which was much more updated and modern. Five minute drive to the little high street which has everything you need – pubs – co-op and really nice restaurant! Overall – a lovely stay, would return and recommend!

Karen Millard | 24 October 2023

Absolutely Breathtaking views 5/5

If you’re looking for somewhere to just unwind this is your place, not much around within a short walking distance but we were happy with location

Foxes View 5/5

This was a fantastic place for our little getaway. The property was really nice and had everything we needed. The kids loved it as it looked like a hobbit house……so did we, our own little slice of the shire. The views are stunning and it’s so peaceful, spent the evenings around the fire pit toasting marshmallows and star gazing. Lovely family break and we’ll definitely be back.

Carl Harrison | 07 September 2023

Unique stay in beautiful location 4.5/5

We had an amazing group stay in Foxes and Hares view for a long weekend. We had pretty much everything we needed which was lovely. The views surrounding the property are amazing and the local amenities were decent, we would defo come back in future!

Idyllic stay 4.8/5

We have just returned from an amazing three night stay at Foxes View . The views as you drive to your property are truly amazing . The property itself is fantastic with fabulous views from all windows especially the bedroom . Waking up each morning was a pleasure . The Hobbit House is well equipped for a self catering stay . I would definitely recommend a stay here and we can’t wait to return .

Kelly Rowling | 29 August 2023

Foxes View 4.8/5

Foxes View in my opinion has the best view and privacy of the site, the rooms are spacious and clean. The hot tub was a great win with the kids. Close to the village for any food and great take outs. Communication was good with the Company. Highly recommend.

Foxes view 4.2/5

Fantastic stay at the Foxes view wow the view was amazing, only things I would change is the garden furniture was a bit wobbly, be nice to have a proper sofa in living area but the seating was comfortable just be more comfortable and bedroom with the patio doors more curtains/ privacy on the side windows .
