Wander the local footpaths and marvel at the scenery. The Gilfach Nature Reserve is a two mile walk from Primrose Pod and a little further on Monica's Munchies sells breakfast rolls until 3pm. For a scenic drive described by the AA as one of the top ten in the World, head through the dramatic Elan Valley to Devils Bridge.

Primrose Pod sits in the little farming village of Saint Harmon just outside the market town of Rhayader. Rhayader is the first town on the River Wye, where you will find shops, pubs, cafe's and nature walks.

Sleeping up to four people in two king sized bedrooms, the second bedroom at Primrose Pod can be converted into a twin for children if you choose.

Perfect for those seeking walking holidays in Mid Wales or dog friendly lodges near the Elan Valley. Primrose Pod has a modern kitchen equipped with a dishwasher, oven, & microwave. The living area is open plan with sofas, a smart TV and a dining table looking out to your enclosed garden. The modern shower room has a flushing toilet and a corner shower. No more trekking across a field in the night!

Primrose Pod has decking and outdoor seating looking over your secure garden. Spark up the barbecue or firepit or lounge in the steamy bubbles of your private hot tub. Sheer bliss! Your holiday with dogs or with little children will be all the more relaxing thanks to the enclosed garden. Watch them play from the hot tub or while soaking up the sun, knowing they can't wander far.

Primrose Pod has five equally spacious sister lodges with hot tubs and secure gardens. Along with the Shepherd's Huts and nearby Ger Yr Afon Cottage, they can sleep up to 41 guests. So perfect for dog friendly group holidays and large family gatherings.

    Check In / Check Out

    Standard check in is from 4pm & check out is by 10am.
    This property offers 'Early Check In' at the following rates:
    • From 12 pm - £80
    • From 1pm - £60
    • From 2pm - £40
    • From 3pm - £20

    'Late Check Out' is offered at the following rates:

    • By 11am - £35
    • By 12pm - £70

    Please let us know if you wish to add any of these to your booking and payment is to be made at the time of ordering this with us.

    Maid Service

    Primrose offers a 'Maid Service' at £30 per property. Maid service includes cleaning the property, turning down the beds, as well as replacing any dirty towels and replenishing any other amenities.​ Upon booking please add to the notes which day you would like this service or message us to book.

    Pet Friendly

    Primrose is a pet friendly and accepts up to 2 dogs and also has an enclosed garden for safety!
    At no time are any dogs to be left inside the property unattended, please be mindful & careful around any livestock with dogs.
    Additional pets may be permitted at extra cost, contact us for further information & charges.​

    There are 2 bedrooms in Primrose.

    • 1 x King Size Bed
    • The second bedroom can either be made to a 1 King Size Bed or 2 x Single Beds.
    Please let us know prior to your stay how you would like this room made up.

    Linen & Towels

    All bed linen is provided.
    One hand towel & 1 bath sheet are provided per guest.
    If using the hot tub we recommend also bringing your own towels too!

    A hairdryer is also available upon request.

    Cots & Highchairs

    Travel cots & a high chairs for your stay can be provided for your stay. These are to be booked through us prior to your stay.
    The travel cots do not have bedding included.

    Hot Tub & Outside Area

    Primrose has its own private hot tub, what better way to relax during your stay then making full use of this whilst admiring the beautiful view!
    Please be mindful that they may not be quite up to temperature when you first arrive.
    There is outside seating & also a fire pit at the property, we offer Log Packages which can be found on our 'Hampers' page.

    Kitchen

    On your arrival, you will find complimentary tea, coffee, sugar & milk. A tea towel, sponge & cloth, some dishwasher tablets and fairy liquid, just to help get you started on your self-catering holiday.

    Bathroom

    In the bathroom you will find a shower, hand sink, flushing toilet & heated towel rail as well as 2 rolls of toilet paper & hand soap.

    Wi-Fi

    This property has Wi-Fi with good signal but occasionally intermittent.

    Primrose is heated with under floor heating.

    There is parking space for 2 cars at the property, parking on the grassed area is not permitted at anytime.

    Meet Joe & Becky..

    Joe & Becky along with their 2 little boys Syd and Charlie are the ones you can expect to meet during your stay. Both Joe and Becky have worked hard to provide you with 6 Luxury Glamping Pods and 4 Luxury Shepherds Huts on one site, they have something for you all with many booking multiple properties for group get together's.

    Joe and Becky have lived in the area all of their lives so have lots of local knowledge if you need any help during your stay.

    They also own a small Bungalow called Ger Yr Afon which is just across the road from the Glamping Site which is also used as a Holiday Let.

An amazing weekend 5/5

We booked to stay on Primrose with my 13 year old and our cockapoo Ralph. From the moment we pulled up it was an utter wow moment. The pod is set in an idyllic part of the country with sheep and cows as neighbours. The pod was very clean and after a 4 hour trip the little touches of milk in the fridge really did make a difference. My son loved the football pitch and got tub and the pod has everything you could need. All the little touches to make your stay comfy are thought about. Loved that the hoover was left as it allowed us to keep the place clean and as we found it. The surrounding area is lovely, we really enjoyed the elan valley and we are really looking forward to coming back and seeing the things we didn't get to do. We loved our stay and already wanting to book for next year.

Beautiful accomodation, so clean and comfortable, evrerything you need for your stay. Beautiful an peaceful view was nice waking up amd seeing the animals. Locely ljttle town just 5 minutes down the road. Only downside for me was heating was not working in main bedroom my own fault though im sure if i messaged it would of been sorted but in all fairness oncw under that lovelt quilt it was more than warm enough. Honestly it was lovely there the hot tub was lovely and hot. Overall stay exceeded my expectations

Primrose 5/5

Primrose was very clean and cosy. Couldn’t have wished for a better way to spend our anniversary. I would definitely recommend but take into consideration that everything is a long walk away so if you don’t drive expect to stay in the cabin or pay taxi fares. All in all we had an amazing time just relaxing and spending time in the cabin/hot tub. Ps the bed is comfortable I could have brought it home with me.

Perfect stay! 5/5

We booked Primrose to celebrate my 30th birthday as a family. When we arrived we were amazed at how beautiful it was. It was cleaned to a brilliant standard it had everything we could possibly need and it was in a gorgeous location. My 1 year old made use of the gated garden and charged around for hours whilst we soaked in the hot tub. The extra touches of mince pies and waffled went down a treat and the Christmas decorations made it feel cosy! Daisy loved the Christmas tree, it gave it a home from home feeling. Primrose will always have a piece of our hearts and we cannot wait to return as we actually got engaged whilst we were there too! We had a brilliant stay and will definitely return in the future. A weeks Getaway 5/5

We stayed in the Primrose Pod and it’s was beautiful. The gated garden was a bonus as our dogs loved the space to walk freely around. The Pod was lovely and clean and had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. Local shops only 5 minutes drive down the road. Definitely recommend a walk around Elan Valley as it has beautiful views. Overall we had a lovely stay and will definitely be returning.

Outstanding pods, lovely people.....we'll be back!!!! 5/5

Our stay for 4 nights in Primrose was fantastic from start to finish. The pods were spacious and comfortable, the owners have thought of everything. The hot tub was superb the kids and ourselves loved it. The views are lovely surrounded by countryside. The grounds of the site are regularly maintained to keep everything looking great. We had some lovely days out in the surrounding area and even took a trip to Snowdon, which was fantastic. The very local Red Kite feeding sanctuary was well worth a visit too and real treat to see. My wife left her jacket in the pod upon check out and made one quick phone call to the owners on the way home and a few days later the jacket arrived in post!! Was such a lovely thing to do, thankyou to everyone who worked there, we will be definitely returning at some point soon!!!

Relaxation at Primrose Pod. 4.7/5

Arrived at the pod at it looked immaculate from the outside looking in and boy it was immaculate. The pod was super clean and tidy. Beds were so comfortable and the bedding was so soft on your skin. Wow I loved the shower that was amazing. The pod had everything we needed for our trip. I loved the dishwasher I thinking about getting one for myself at home. The location was fantastic along with the views. My boy had so much free time playing outside without me worrying if he’s okay plenty of seating. The only let down was the flys they kept coming in the pod some how but other than that I highly recommend this place.

We had a wonderful stay in the Primrose Pod. The place was spotless when we arrived, we had everything we could possibly need and the location was stunning. We also ordered a hamper which was delivered quickly and added a touch of luxury. The gated garden meant that our 4 year old could play safely and the hot tub was a brilliant addition. We stayed at Primrose pod and had a lovely relaxing holiday. The pod was clean and had everything we needed, the only thing missing is a dog poo bin. The hot tub was hot and a great addition. The views from the pod were beautiful, waking up to cows and sheep outside of your window makes a great start to the day. Elan valley is close by and definitely worth a visit, it does not disappoint. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

A real hidden gem 5/5

We booked for a family of 2 adults & 2 children (aged 12 & 9) during May 1/2 term. The property itself is stunning, clean & more spacious than we had expected! It’s decorated beautifully & equipped well for a self catering break. The pod sits staggered alongside 5 others, with a fence for privacy by the hot tub, which was huge & for all of us comfortably. The local area is the most beautiful part of the world. We spent days exploring the elan valley, visiting the dams, going for long walks with our energetic 3yr old Labrador, highly recommend the visitor centre at the Elan Valley. Cost £3 for parking all day which includes electric vehicle charging, they have super knowledgeable rangers to help with walks / routes too! The cafe is reasonably priced & there’s a play area for children also. Another must visit is the Gilfach nature reserve, lots of routes to walk (big or small) along the river wye. We loved the accommodation & area so much we’ve already booked for next year! Thank you so much to our hosts for having us

Holidays Wales helped us out when we were on another holiday that wasn't what we'd paid for.
