Amazing location 5/5

What a stay we had, the underground house was so much bigger than I thought, the location is amazing

Charlotte Yarwood | 04 April 2024

Girls Break 4.3/5

Hedgehogs View is beautiful just like the photos show. We really enjoyed our stay but wouldn't return as the beds and pillows were very uncomfortable. We unfortunately had rainy weather across all three days we were there so didn't get to enjoy sitting outside. This meant we had to sit inside when at Hedgehogs View and the sofa isn't very big so only just provides seating for 4 adults. I would recommend the property to others but would advise that 4 adults is the max and to bring your own pillows!

What a place! 5/5

5 of us had a great weekend at Hedgehogs view. When you park up you get a wow factor of the view (even through it was drizzling), then another as you enter the property (lockbox outside makes "checkin" easy). There was loads of room for 4 adults and one child, there was bunkbeds for another child if required. Each main bedroom had patio doors out looking over the beautiful valley. In the fields next to us were a herd of Highland cows - but even more impressive was the amount of kites circling above. Nearby is the small town with pubs/shops/takeaways. We also went to the Ellan Valley, a short drive away - very impressive. The only issue we had was the 6 visitors in Hares view who were seemingly in the hot tub from 4pm Friday until check out Sunday. Unfortunately at 2:30am Sunday, I had to go down and ask them to be more considerate of the other people around. They did spoil the weekend a little.

Lovely accommodation with stunning views 3.5/5

We really liked the hobbit style hut. It was unique and quaint, like somewhere we had never stayed before. The views were amazing. The hut was finished to a high spec, although it was quite warm constantly. We couldn’t find a thermostat to turn the heating down. We did turn the radiators down but it didn’t make much difference and had to open the door to let in fresh air, which was not ideal with a dog and the surrounding grounds not being enclosed. Two of the three external doors were quite stiff to lock and we found that one of the doors didn’t lock at all and this has been unlocked before we got there and for the whole of our stay (it was in a bedroom we didn’t use and so didn’t notice this towards the very end of our stay). The hut had the majority of things we needed on arrival such as tea, coffee, sugar, milk and towels. Towels for the hot tub weren’t provided but the booking info did advise of this. We would stay again.

Beautiful, Cosy and Idyllic 4.5/5

We had a beautiful stay at hedgehog view, the landscape was gorgeous, accommodation first class and staff very helpful. We would definitely go again and recommend to others. It is on the pricey side (approx £250-£300 a night) but it is a unique experience. We went in winter time and it was cosy, but the master bedroom wasn't as warm as the others, but there was another double bed room which was warm for our new born to sleep in with mum. Loved the little touches and everything was to a very high standard. My only suggestion would be to have some privacy blinds or curtains to cover the the entire windows, I get there are beautiful views but in the evening it can feel you are a little 'on show' and for families with young ones

The perfect break 5/5

Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay, truly amazing. Perfect views, comfort and privacy was on point in the Hedgehog view lodge, had everything we needed. I surprised my husband here for his 30th birthday and he loved every second of it, Gemma was amazing and helped get me surprise balloons etc for arrival to make it that bit more special. Definitely will be coming back, contemplating a Christmas here because it’s just perfect.

Brilliant! 5/5

Really impressed, different, amazing design, ideal location, out in country side but not too far from civilisation, taxi was cheap and reliable. Loved our Xmas tree. Hot tubs immaculate. Mega impressed.

Lovely stay 4.5/5

Hedgehogs view was gorgeous, thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The views were outstanding, the master room lovely The kitchen well equipped and the hot tub was lovely. Given the price i feel a towels for the hot tub each could have been provided. There was water coming out of the plug socket behind the tv when it was raining which i informed the owners of on departure. The only other issue I had was finding the correct hut. We arrived in the dark and drove around the site for a while reading each small sign outside the huts, but they didnt stand out At night time. Ours was tucked away behind the others but there was nothing suggesting this, and no direction provided in the information that was emailed out. So this was a stressful start to the trip. Better signage would help with this on the site, or at the least directions to each individual property provided in the information emailed to customers. But other than those things it was a fabulous stay.

Stunning night away 5/5

Most beautiful place to stay! Gorgeous location and beautiful interior decoration. The property is located hillside with a lovely hot tub! We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the hot tub and watching the stars in the sky, after popping down to the village to have food in a The Lamb and Flag, the food was delicious! They had kindly decorated with birthday balloons and bunting for my Boyfriends birthday, which he loved! In the morning, we were woken up by the most beautiful sunrise and to see the fields ahead we covered in frost!

Lauren Jones | 26 November 2023

This is our third year here and as soon as we get there we feel at peace it truly is our happy place. Luckily the weather held out this year and we enjoyed great walks and pony trekking. Hedgehogs view is a great place to stay, comfortable and the hot tub is great. We will definitely be back x

Five stars! 4.5/5

Wonderful stay, 100% as described. Perfect location to explore Elan Valley and beyond. Five stars!!

Frank Staelens | 31 July 2023

Amazing and unique getaway 5/5

We absolutely adored our stay at Hedgehogs view! The pictures looked amazing when we booked but it was even better in real life! It is set up with everything you could need. We were travelling with a toddler and they even provided a travel cot & highchair for us so we didn't have to bring those with us! The information they provide once you have booked is brilliant, everything from what to do in the local area from where to eat or even order food from! The communication with the team was so quick and easy. Our accommodation had a hot tub which was a lovely touch to enjoy once we had put our daughter to bed! The place was immaculate and we honestly couldn't fault it. We will definitely be back to stay again in the future.

Gemma Graystone | 06 July 2023

Good Stay 4.2/5

We really enjoyed our stay at Hedgehogs view. The Location is fantastic and what a lovely view over the valley. We thoroughly enjoyed using the hot tub and making use of the outside seating with this fantastic sunny weather we had. The whole place was really clean and well designed. What a great idea and we would love to stay again!! There were a couple of things which should be addressed. Most importantly are the beds/mattresses. We found that the beds have really high sides which meant when you sat on the edge they were digging into your thighs. Also when laying on the bed when you went to sleep our arms would rest on the high sides and be uncomfortable. The mattresses on the double beds have big dips in them. Which meant we were sliding into the dips all night and we couldn’t sleep properly. We turned the mattress around 180 degrees to see if that would work due to not being turned however it was just as bad unfortunately. Both of these issues would be fixed with new deeper mattresses. The minor issues were that some of the jets in the hot tub would fall out and float in the tub. We tried screwing them back in but when using the next time they would pop back out. We found the toaster not working properly, when putting the bread in, the silver arms to hold the toast wouldn’t move. The curtains in the bedroom are lovely but adding little hooks to the side so they can spread all the way across the window not just the door would be great. Just so in the morning you don’t wake up early with the sunrise. These are just some small issues which can be easily fixed and we appreciate without you knowing these, they can’t be fixed 🙂 This isn’t a negative review so please don’t read it that way!! We had such an amazing time here

Ollie Barnett | 17 June 2023

Wonderful calm family getaway in a peaceful location 5/5

Our family of 10, and 2 dogs, booked Rabbits View and Hedgehogs view. Both right next to each other. This meant the kids could run back and fourth to each other without a care in the world. Such a wonderful location and we had a great patch of green to ourselves to overlook the cows in the field across from us. Booking process was simple - the emails from the provider were helpful and informative. Local area is nice, a 5 min drive into the village, where there are little village shops and nice pubs. There are wonderful walks/hikes, parks, and farms nearby to explore. Would need a car to get to them.

Louisa Aschettino | 07 June 2023

Fantastic 5/5

What an amazing property everything you could wish for and more . Maybe somewhere to put clothes if your stay was longer would help but that wasn’t a problem for us . Fantastic family place and what a view !!

Unforgettable 5/5

Had my eye on this property for a little while, seeing posts showing the beauty of it. We were truly not disappointed. What an absolute Gem of an accommodation. Stunning, exceptionally clean, cosy, beautiful decor, just perfect in every way. Spectacular views from sitting on the sofa, waking up in the morning, taking a relaxing bath, chilling in the hot tub and roasting marshmallows on the fire pit. Host was fantastic too, messaged a few times and got a response straight away. I have to mention the bedding too which makes a massive difference to your sleep, pillows and duvet so soft and smelt so clean, the towels too. What more can I say…… 5 Stars ?? ????????

Nikki Goode | 04 March 2023

Cute accommodation and great location 5/5

We had a fab time at this place, very well decorated and comfortable. We didn’t want to leave. The views are amazing- could sit all day here and watch the vast amount of red kites over the field…stunning. The bath and views were fab..enjoyed a bottle of champagne relaxing after a long walk in there ..fab. Lots of walks in the village and takeaways within a mile or 2…fab location. Enjoyed the hot tub…could have been a touch warmer but we had fab use of this which was great for relaxing in the evening with a champagne. Will be returning here for sure
