Perfect weekend getaway 4.8/5

The whole experience was perfect. Beautiful shepherd hut located in the countryside, hot tub was a massive plus for us as its the time we got to just unwind and relax from the busy life at home, waking up to the sound of highland cows was just amazing too! We went out for dinner in the evenings, lots of pubs and places to go just a 5 minute drive away. would highly recommend to visit the waterfalls and Elan Valley, what an experience to see! Excellent value for money, I cant recommend this place enough – We will definitely be returning!

Stunning Location 4.7/5

Lovely little accommodation that has everything you need and the location is amazing. The site is really quiet and the views were just incredible. Plenty to do just a short drive away. Would be great if some local dog walks were available directly from the site. Had a great weekend.

Cute and cosy 5/5

We had a lovely stay. It was very cosy, spotlessly clean, and cutely decorated. The views were absolutely stunning and made the stay extra special. Would definitely recommend for a peaceful getaway.

Another great stay 5/5

This was our second stay at marches way, and once again it was an fantastic break away, they had made some pleasant changes to the shepherds hut, including a rope border around the decking, smaller mesh on the gate across the green, which was especially good for our two little dogs, and also some good clear instructions for the hot tub, which was lovely and hot upon arrival and stayed that way through out the entire holiday. Also a special thanks for accommodating our early checking request and late check out. We will definitely be back again, and would highly recommend to anyone that appreciate the countryside and farm views, not forgetting the beautiful clear night sky filled with more stars than I care to count. Thank you so much Gemma for yet another wonderful holiday stay.

Perfect! 5/5

Marches Way was everything we were looking for in a long weekend stay! The site was beautifully maintained with a calm but friendly atmosphere – we felt our cabin had enough privacy while still being part of the site. The cabin itself had everything we could have possibly needed for our stay, it is clear that a lot of thought has gone into the accommodation. The cabin was beautifully cleaned upon arrival with complimentary tea and coffee well stocked and some complimentary waffles too! The hot tub was great & the views were amazing – we loved watching the sunset each evening. Overall we had an amazing trip & couldn’t fault anything – we would recommend staying here to anyone!

Fantastic place to stay!! 4.7/5

We’ve just returned from a wonderful two-night stay at Marches Way and couldn’t be more pleased. The views were absolutely breathtaking — it was such a treat to watch the red kites soaring overhead and the Highland cows grazing in the field opposite. The large garden space was a real highlight, especially for our dog who loved running freely in the secure outdoor area. We also really enjoyed watching the farmers herding sheep into the nearby fields — a lovely rural touch. Inside, the property was cosy, clean, and beautifully decorated, with all the facilities easy to use — including the hot tub, which was a fantastic bonus. Our only small criticism would be the outdoor metal seating, which was a bit uncomfortable, rusted, and appeared quite worn. Since we were lucky with the weather and wanted to spend time outside, more comfortable outdoor seating would really enhance the experience. Overall, a peaceful, scenic getaway with lots of charm — we’d definitely recommend it and we look forward to staying here again!!

Perfect 4.8/5

We really loved it here! Was hard to leave this beautiful place. The hut was super cosy and clean. It had everything you needed and more. Microwave, toaster, minifridge, plates, glasses, cutlery, tv, towels,… . The first night the water from the shower was a bit hot, but the next day it was fixed already. Also used the hot tub, was lovely and clean, easy to use. We loved how the bed was positioned in the hut. Definitely value for money!!

This was the second time we had stayed at marches way and will not be the last . Nice and clean and has everything we need and the views are amazing! Secure garden makes it nice and easy to relax knowing the dogs arent going anywhere.

Beth Roberts | 28 September 2024

Weekend break 3.2/5

Customer service was shocking i spoke to pip on the phone and via email she was very rude ans unhelpful. Bed was uncomfortable pillows old and uncomfortable, definitely not “luxury” No coffee machine as advertised nor the freshly sourced milk in glass bottle as advertised. Dogs maybe welcome but they are not pet unfriendly, notes left inside saying strictly no dogs on any of the furniture. Only on arrival are you told by notes again that you are to strip beds apon leaving, recycle rubbish and clean the property and be out by 10am. I found it to strict and conditioned couldnt relax and enjoy our selfs in fear of losing the £200 deposit they take. I would not recommend or return. Definitely not worth the money

Rebecca Gray | 03 September 2024

Perfection 4.8/5

Absolutely LOVED my stay at Marches Way, just the escape needed. The hut is small but perfectly formed, comfortable, and well equipped with views for miles. 100% will return.

CERI MORGANS | 04 May 2024

Pictures don’t do it justice. Beyond perfect, stunning place to stay. 4.7/5

Stayed 3 nights here and it was a shame we didn’t book for more! Absolutely beautiful place to stay, everything was perfect about it and the added bonus of the hot tub was amazing. The homemade raspberry lemonade was a lovely touch and it was really nice to! The massive enclosed garden was perfect to let your dog/s roam around freely. Already spoke about coming back to stay with my partner as it was that good!

Ben Norrie | 07 October 2023

Lovely shepherds hut with beautiful views 5/5

This is the second time we have stayed at the marches and it didn’t disappoint. we love the location, the peacefulness of the site and the hut is beautiful. The hot tub is a bonus. Ideal spot for visiting Elan valley for a spot of cycling and taking in the beauty of our wonderful country.

Dawn Mills | 05 September 2023

Short break 4/5

Lovely place very peaceful. The dogs loved running around in the enclosed garden. Unfortunately the weather was against us during our stay which made it difficult to enjoy outside time and the hut was a lot smaller than we expected.

Jay Wallis | 11 July 2023

Lovely Short Stay 4.8/5

This was my first time going on a solo shirt break and it didn’t disappoint. I wish I booked to stay longer. Marches Way and its location were peaceful and stunning, surrounded by the countrysides of Rhayader and in close driving proximity to Elan Valley. Thank you for a wonderful stay, I can’t wait to return in the future!

Alicia Stannard | 20 June 2023

We stayed for a long weekend and wish we booked longer! We couldn’t fault anything! The property itself was beautiful, very clean and provided us with everything we needed! The views were perfect too! The secure garden was perfect for our pup – was so lovely to let him run around and not have to worry! We will be booking again!
