Quiet break off the beaten track 4.2/5

Myself and my husband stayed for 4 nights with our dog to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary. The property is impressive with lots of space and land, our dog really enjoyed the little woodlands behind the cabin. While the location is lovely and picturesque, surrounded by greenery and farm animals, it is a bit of a drive from the nearest town (around 20-25 minutes). We didn't mind this though as the drive was lovely and scenic with no traffic (apart from sheep in the road!). We had an issue with the hot tub on the first night as it hadn't been cleaned. Within an hour of texting the owners someone came out to clean it but we weren't able to use it until the next day. It wasn't a particular warm hot tub either, I noticed a side panel was hanging open so it wasn't being insulated properly so perhaps that was the issue? On our last night the hot tub was too cold to use which was disappointing. Perhaps an upgrade is needed. The cabin itself was very spacious for the 3 of us and was very clean, despite the outside looking a bit worn. It could do with a lick of paint and a couple of the paving slabs on the steps had come loose which could cause an accident if not careful. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet and slow break away.

Peace and Quiet 5/5

If you’re after peace and quiet, this is the place to do it. We needed a break from our very busy lives to re charge our batteries and we certainly did,From the moment we arrived to the time we had to leave. The beds were VERY comfortable, and had the best week’s sleep in a long time. It’s a shame we had to leave, we will be returning in the future.

Honest review 3.8/5

The pros: On arrival inside the cabin was lovely and clean, although it does require some tlc in certain areas. The garden was very secure, so our dogs could run around freely. The views are amazing and the place is very relaxing. The cons: The hot tub was quite dirty and one of the filers was covered in dirt, so I’m not sure when it was last cleaned. The outside garden table and chairs were covered in a green residue, which meant you couldn’t use them. The kitchen was missing some utensils, such as a tin opener and chopping board, so it meant that the food I had planned to cook for my baby couldn’t be used. Inside the kettle was covered in lime-scale and looks like it has never been cleaned, so we didn’t use it. The ice maker on the freezer was covered in old food and dirt on the inside, so we didn’t use it. For the price we paid, we did enjoy our stay but I wouldn’t pay any more than £500 for a weekend. The cabin really needs a deep clean inside and out.
