Overview of Mountain View, Underground House ..

If you are wanting to feel 'on top of the world' whilst vacating in Wales then this property really is quite literally this.

Mountain View is one of two brand new, immaculately presented Underground Houses with panoramic view of the Banwy Valley and is suitable for a couples getaway or a small family holiday.

The front facing view pans from Cadair Idris to the left across to Lake Vyrnwy and then right around to Rodney's Pillar to the right, and if you are into exploring, all of these places are well worth a visit!

The property itself nestled into the hillside really is delightful, the covered front porch leaves an excellent space to enjoy the panoramic views and also has outdoor storage for footwear with front door leading inside.

With an open plan space, Mountain View really does make full use of the space on offer. The full equipped kitchen comes complete with oven, two ring hob, fridge/ freezer, toaster & kettle with a breakfast bar for meal times.

If you wish to relax and watch your favourite series on the smart TV you can do this from the comfort of the delightful green sofa which not only adds a pop of colour but also doubles up as a sofa bed.

Further inside the property you will find the plush King size bed, the perfect place to get in an early night and gaze up at the stars through the spherical sky light.

In the bathroom you will find a walk in shower, wash basin, flushing WC & heated towel rail.

Impressed by the interior? Head outside and you will find a family size private hot tub, this really is the perfect place to take in the incredible view, and better still? It's completely undercover so you can make full use of this in all weathers! Outside there is also outdoor furniture, where better for alfresco dining!

This well-appointed, quirky property is ideally situated as a base to explore all of this beautiful area but there's a very good chance that you will not feel the need to stray very far. With hares looping over the flowery turf, red kites wheeling overhead and the only sound to be heard is the bubbling sound of the skylark, Hilltop Holidays is ideal for relaxing and recharging the batteries. If you want peace or adventure, activity or tranquillity, Hilltop Holidays provides the perfect location for a deeply relaxing getaway.

Looking for a stay for up to 8 people? Check out The Valley View, a neighbouring Underground House!

Everything & More!!! If you havent already, get booking!!!! By Guest Review

Wow. Where do we start!!! I booked Mountain View as me and my girlfriend are both HUGE hobbit/Lotr fans and have always dreamed of waking up to views similar to that of the Shire…. And Mountain View ticks all the boxes!

First of all, the facilities are everything you need and more! Mountain View (& Valley View) come with a seating area that doubles up as a sofa bed, so even as a couple we enjoyed setting the sofa bed up for movie nights!! There are bar stools near the counter which we used to eat both first and second breakfast (IYKYK), which strategically slide under the counter to create a more open floorplan. The kitchen was kitted with everything you need to create some amazing meals, and hilltop holidays provide informative booklets so you know how to use the oven and hob! The kitchen sink tap is a bit strong so it does splash up onto the counter if you arent careful but its perfect once you find the perfect stream! Hidden inside the foot stool were some colouring books and crayons which i thought was a nice touch for those who may have young children with them! The bed area was so snug and cosy! With the most perfect skylight (which was perfect both with the sun and rain as the noise was amazing!) Theres a little light at the end of the bed which provides a nice light to fall asleep too! The bed also comes equipped with a bluetooth speaker (which filters throughout the whole home) which you can only hear inside the hut. Theres also 2 plug sockets and 2 seperate USB Ports! Alongside the bed is a hidden storage area which houses a broom and extra duvet which is perfect.

The bathroom is everything, i wish there was a slightly bigger mirror, but other than that it is packed with everything you need! The shower has lights in it which i thought was so high-end and theres also a heated towel rail and underfloor heating!

The hot tub was… something else… wow! We spent the majority of our time in here as the comfort mixed with the views was a dream come true!

We fell in love from the moment we arrived and even extended our stay from 2 nights to 4! We will definitely be returning and will recommend hilltop holidays & Mountain View to anybody and everybody!!!

Idyllic perfection a break like no other By Guest Review

From the very thoughtful welcome with bubbly and Welsh cakes to the spotless quirky and just perfect hobbit house, we knew this was a great choice.
Nothing can beat the view from the window (or top quality hot tub) we have just had 6 peaceful days here and can’t wait to return.
Everything is well thought out and well equipped. It is the most amazing way to just switch off for a few days. You can hook up your music to the inbuilt Bluetooth speakers and just relax. There are just 2 hobbit houses here which are perfectly positioned so you don’t even know the other is there and both have absolutely stunning views.
The hosts were not far if needed, the hot tub checked daily and just really lovely people 🙂 you could see from every detail they really put so much thought into it.
There is a lovely steam train ride into welshpool from the bottom of the hill, a folder full of recommended places to visit and I can’t not mention the butcher’s (Pandy’s) where, in addition to top quality meat and cooked produce, we found lovely local honey, homemade cakes and fresh veg.
It’s a romantic getaway for many, we went with 2 children (8&9) and they loved it too, my youngest is autistic and the first thing he said was he felt safe, he also had the freedom to run around outside without us worrying and he was so calm, he would have happily stayed for the summer! we were 15 minutes late leaving as my son was so upset to go and wouldn’t get in the car, he is still asking to go back 🙂
We left feeling like we had all relaxed and taken a break, which never happens!
Would highly recommend ❤️

It’s not very often you find a purpose built location that has been completed with pride in their work. Everything was completed to a high standard, lovely location with fantastic views.

The only thing that was a draw back for us was the privacy during the dark. But due to the location and so far out the way it was soon forgotten about.

Hot tub was fantastic quality as well, and the built in bluetooth inside was a nice touch. Well worth the money.
