Just two miles from the Market town of Rhayader, known as the Gateway to the Cambrian Mountains and first town on the River Wye. Ger Yr Afon Cottage is a perfect base for exploring the heart of Wales. Rhayader also has plenty of pubs, cafes and shops. Enjoy Sunday Lunch followed by walks beside the River Wye.

The beauty of the area drew the Romantic Poet Shelley to make the Elan Valley his home. Explore footpaths, easy cycleways, rivers, mountains and waterfalls. Whether on foot, by car, kayak, or pony trekking! Ger Yr Afon Cottage is a two mile walk from Gilfach Nature Reserve. And the sequence of Victorian dams at the Elan Valley is also a stones throw away.

Ger Yr Afon Cottage with hot tub bubbling and stream babbling along beside, is a holiday cottage in Wales to keep returning to! Enjoy relaxing in the comfortable lounge, where you can snuggle in front of the smart TV. On chilly evenings stoke up the roaring log burner and put your feet up.

The kitchen at Ger Yr Afon Cottage is also stylish and well equipped. With a beautiful Belfast sink, dining table and large fridge freezer. As well oven, hob, microwave, toaster and kettle. You will soon feel at home cooking here

Get ready for the day in the immaculate and bright shower room, before taking your morning coffee out onto the decking area overlooking the stream. Ger Yr Afon Cottage hot tub is always warm, so why not hop in before breakfast!

The master king size bedroom benefits from garden views and has its own en suite, perfect to watch the stream flowing by with a cup of tea. The equally cosy twin room can be converted into another King size bedroom for your arrival if you request as well as the third bedroom meaning this property can accommodate up to six guests

What's more, these fabulous HAMPERS are available at this property, please order 2 weeks in advance

Ger Yr Afon Cottage garden is the place to sit back and listen to the trickling sound of the stream and watch the red kites fly overhead. Thank you very much for such an enjoyable stay at Ger Yr Afon. The bungalow was spotless and had everything we needed. The guest handbook was great and provided all the information we needed. The stream in the garden provided hours of fun for our toddler and the hot tub was lovely in the evenings; we loved that it was heated ready for our arrival. The local dams and forests were beautiful. Our first visit to wales but not the last and will definitely use holidayswales again for our accommodation. I’ve passed your Instagram page to lots of people already.

Thanks for a lovely weekend.

We had the best time at Ger Y Afon! What a beautiful property in the most stunning location. We are “city kids” so the peace and tranquillity we got staying here with the stream running through, the heavenly garden and the hot tub which gave us holiday vibes, gave us a stay full of joy and bliss! In fact my 4 year old has spoken of nothing else since we returned!

Can’t fault it at all. We have told all our friends and family about you too.

Hope to see you again in the future!
